My youngest daughter did one year of rec gymnastics. She is not a natural gymnast, she really had to work at it. She was 8 years old and quite inexperienced.
She competed in 3 meets and did not take home medals in any event during that time. It didn’t really phase her until the last meet when she realized she was the only girl on her team who did not medal. The look on her face was heartbreaking. She worked just as hard as everyone else, but gymnastics wasn’t her thing.
She cried the whole way home. In a ditch effort to save the day, I pulled into an ice cream shop to order milkshakes.
How To Make A Banana Milkshake
I’m not going to go into too much detail here, because most of us know how to make a milkshake. It’s a matter of filling a blender, turning it on and then pouring! So instead of talking about how to make the milkshake, we can talk about what goes into a banana milkshake!
How to Make A Banana Milkshake With Ice Cream
This particular milkshake starts with homemade banana ice cream! You can read my post that details the best way to make the creamiest banana ice cream. Once you have that, it is smooth sailing!
Place scoops of the homemade ice cream and whole milk into a blender and blend. Add bananas (if desired) and continue to blend until smooth and creamy. While my recipe lists ingredient quantities note that they are merely recommendations. I think milkshakes are one of those things that need to be made to taste!
How To Make A Banana Milkshake Without A Blender
The best way to make a milkshake without a blender to is to place your ice cream and your milk in a large bowl and whisk until the ingredients are blended to your liking. This will take time some time and some muscle, but it can be done!
If you have a metal bowl, I would use that, but I would chill it first. This will help the ice cream maintain it’s temperature.
How To Make A Banana Milkshake Without Ice Cream
To make a milkshake without ice cream, combine the bananas, milk, ice cubes, and sugar to taste in a blender and blend until combined! You won’t have that creamy and rich texture that comes from ice cream, but in a pinch, it will do!
