What Are Pudding Shots?
Pudding shots are exactly what they sound like, little cups of instant pudding blended with some sort of alcohol. You can use almost any flavored pudding and any type of alcohol. One of my all-time favorite pudding shots recipe are these Tiramisu pudding shots made with both chocolate and vanilla pudding that are infused with vodka and Kahlua. And then there are these Pina Colada Pudding Shots made with vanilla pudding and coconut pudding!

How To Make Eggnog Pudding Shots
This recipe starts with a box of instant vanilla pudding mix. You’ll pretty much prepare it according to the directions on the box, beating in very cold milk then whisking in spiced rum, bourbon, nutmeg, and cinnamon. Once the pudding has thickened, fold in a cup of Cool Whip. This will make it nice and fluffy. Spoon or pipe your pudding into your cups or glasses and refrigerate until completely set. When ready to serve, top each cup with more whipped topping and garnish with more nutmeg or cinnamon.
How Long Do Pudding Shots Last?
Pudding shots should keep in your refrigerate for 5-7 days and can be kept in the freezer for up to a month. Allow them to thaw in the fridge before serving.
Pudding Shots Tips:
Instant Pudding is the best for pudding shots as it sets up quickly.
Use very cold milk when making pudding shots and beat on high with a hand held mixer. The cold milk and all the all the air from whisking will work to set your pudding.
Any type of alcohol will, you can substitute brandy, vodka, or Fireball whiskey if you’d prefer.
Fold in the whipped cream, do not stir or else your pudding will deflate.
- 1 3.5 oz box vanilla pudding
- 1 cup cold milk
- 2 tablespoons spiced rum
- 2 tablespoons bourbon
- ½ teaspoon nutmeg
- ¼ teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 cup whipped topping (Cool Whip)
- In a bowl, combine pudding mix and milk and prepare according to package directions.
- Whisk in the rum, bourbon, nutmeg and cinnamon.
- Fold whipped topping into the pudding.
- Spoon mixture unto shot glasses or into a ziptop bag and pipe into the glasses or containers.
- Refrigerate until set. Garnish with additional whipped topping, nutmeg, and cinnamon
