Things are so uncertain and now. That definitely means that any thought of vacation we had is going to have to be put aside for the foreseeable future.
But just because we aren’t traversing the country doesn’t mean we can’ have fun at home! What is more fun that a fruity rum cocktail?!!
This Ambrosia Rum Cocktail makes you feel like you are taking in a beachy view with salty wind flowing through your hair!
As mentioned above, this cocktail takes its inspiration from an Ambrosia salad.
If you haven’t had an Ambrosia salad, let me tell you all about it. Ambrosia is a fruit salad that is often made with canned or fresh pineapple, canned mandarin orange slices or fresh oranges, miniature marshmallows, and coconut. There is usually a creamy element as well. Sometimes you will find heavy cream, sour cream, or even pudding in this salad.
What Do I Need To Make This Spiced Rum Cocktail?
For this recipe, I used:
Rum Chata – This helped make this cocktail creamy
Spiced Rum – Deepened the flavor (I used Captain Morgan’s)
Orange Pineapple Juice – Natural sweetener
Splash of Lime – Freshen the flavors
How To Make Ambrosia Rum Spiced Cocktail
In a cocktail shaker, combine the Rum Chata, spiced rum, and juices. Add ice cubes and shake and strain into a glass filled with ice. Garnish with orange wedges and maraschino cherries if desired.
This recipe will serve up 1 cocktail, but it can easily be doubled or tripled!
This Ambrosia rum cocktail is similar to a pina colada but with a hint of spice!
Suggestions For Ambrosia Rum Cocktail
I love the hint of spice from the spiced rum, but white rum can be used instead.
The juice adds enough sweetness to this recipe, but if you like your cocktails sweeter, a touch of simple syrup can be used.
You can use all orange juice or all pineapple juice for this recipe.
