Milk and cookies are just as much a part of Americana as apple pie. Think of all the commercials and advertisements we’ve seen where kids are dunking their cookies into a giant glass of milk. We have been trained to associate milk with cookies and visa versa.

I personally think that dipping cookies into a glass of milk is the grossest thing in the world. I don’t care if the cookies are chocolate chip, oatmale raisin, Fig Newtons (although those are gross no matter what) or Oreos, I am not a fan of dunking cookies into any liquid. I hate the thought of crumbs in my milk. I want to eat my crumbs, not drink them. Then there is the whole soggy cookie thing. No thank you.

I don’t even like to have ice cream touch my cake. I don’t like crumbs in my ice cream or ice cream soaked cake. Surely I am not alone in this right? Sweets and beverages must maintain seperates spaces or else. This snack cake is a play on milk and cookies, but with the added benefit of being combined with fluffy cake. Its genius really. Snack cakes are a bit of a misnomer. I don’t know many moms who willingly serve their kids slices of cakes as a snack. The idea behind it is that this cake is nothing formal, it is a simple recipe that combines comfortable flavors into one dessert.

For this milk and cookies cake, I made a basic vanilla cake batter. I then layered store bought chocolate chip cookie dough in with the cake batter before baking. The cookie dough bakes up soft and tender and forms into the cake in the most delicious way. A super simple frosting (made with milk of course) covers the top.

Milk, chocolate chip cookies and cake are found together in one easy dessert. This is the BEST way to enjoy milk and cookies! No crumbs, no soggines, just happy faces and happy bellies!

This looks SO GOOD Tanya!!!! I used to not be a cookie dipper either but my husband has converted me! The crumbs at the bottom are gross though, it’s true. I just don’t drink down all the way haha!
