Since I’ve been on a grilling theme this week, I thought I’d continue with dessert! Recently I had taken all three kids to the dentist. That in itself was uneventful, it was going to lunch afterwards that was worth writing about.
We went to Tom + Chee for lunch. I’ve never been there. As you may be able to infer from the name, if you’ve never been there, is that they serve soup and grilled sandwiches. When I walked in, I’ll admit I was overwhelmed. Partially because I had three squirrely kids with me, and partially because the menu was written on a very large chalk board wall. I don’t do well with those kinds of menus!!! I need your basic printed menu! The line was moving way too quickly for me so I couldn’t really take in all that they served. However, even in my confusion, I noticed grilled donut s’mores! I’m not kidding, it’s like that menu item was glowing just for me! I had to try it! We loved it, very gooey, and rich, and full of chocolate. Everything as s’more should be! And of course the perfect thing to treat your kids to after they’ve had their teeth cleaned!
I’m happy I tried to re-create this at home. It was a fun twist to your classic s’more. Very easy, very quick and with only a handful of ingredients.
- 4 Glazed donuts, halved
- 2 Hershey bars
- 4 T Marshmallow Fluff
- Heat and spray grill pan with non stick spray. On medium low, add on half of glazed donut onto pan, top with half of your milk chocolate bar, add on large tablespoon of marshmallow fluff, top with remaining donut half. Grill for 1-2 minutes per side, until grill marks appear on donut and chocolate is melted.
